Seth Proctor, CTO of NuoDB

Seth is the CTO at NuoDB. He has nearly 20 years of experience, focusing on distributed computing, networking, security and other fun systems problems.

Before NuoDB Seth worked for Nokia, and before that Sun Microsystems, tackling large-scale systems and understanding not just how to make technology scale, but to do it in such a way that users can scale with it. At Sun, Seth developed new ways of looking at distributed transactions, caching, resource management and profiling in his contributions to Project Darkstar. Darkstar was a key effort at Sun which provided greater insights into how to distribute databases.

Seth holds eight patents for his cutting edge work across several technical disciplines. He has several additional patents awaiting approval related to achieving greater database efficiency and end-user agility.

Damien Katz, Creator of CouchDB

Hardcore software engineer, Creator of CouchDB, distributed systems expert and Product/Software Architect at Salesforce. One of the fathers of NoSQL movement as the creator of Apache CouchDB, the first versions Damien wrote in his spare bedroom. Also, he hates the term NoSQL. People say he's a big data guy, he doesn't know how that happened. Not afraid to get his hands dirty and dive deep on any problem. Excellent written and oral communicator, accomplished blogger, coder, team leader and llama wrestler. Former 'Erlanger of the Year', and he has the plaque to prove it.

Damien has a long track record of successfully finding and implementing ridiculously reliable solutions, often unorthodox in their simplicity, in widely deployed products such as Couchbase Server, Apache CouchDB, MySQL and Lotus Notes (yeah, the one everybody hates, screw that product pfffft).

Robert Greene, Senior Strategist, Oracle NoSQL Database

Robert Greene is Senior Strategist and Lead Evangelist at Oracle, championing the Oracle's NoSQL Database initiative.

Prior to Oracle he was the VP Technology for NoSQL Database company, Versant Corporation, where he set the strategy for alignment with Big Data technology trends resulting in the acquisition of the company by Actian Corp in 2012.

Robert has been an active member of both commercial and open source initiatives in the NoSQL and Object Relational Mapping spaces for the past 18 years, developing software, leading project teams, authoring articles and presenting at major conferences on these topics. In his previous life, Robert was an electronic engineer developing first generation wireless, spread spectrum based security systems.
